Sunset views at The Astoria Column park

Of course the main attraction at The Astoria Column park is the column itself. A close second are the expansive views of the coastline, Astoria itself, Washington, the surrounding mountains, and the Columbia and Youngs rivers. A mottled sunset captured on a spring day offered views looking northwest across town and the Astoria-Megler Bridge and beyond.
